Quigg would turn down World title for Frampton revenge

Scott Quigg [31(23)-1(0)-2] would turn down a World title fight with Leo Santa Cruz in favour of a Carl Frampton rematch.

The ultra-determined Bury puncher lost to ‘The Jackal’ in a PPV super bantamweight unification in Manchester back in February, breaking his jaw in the process.

Quigg has only now returned to training following the injury, and while he wants to win a World title as soon as possible, a non-title opportunity for revenge against Frampton  [22(14)-0] would supersede this urge for a belt.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Toe 2 Toe podcast, Quigg admitted that “I want Frampton 100 percent. I am a winner and I want to avenge that loss.”

“I want to put that wrong right and that’s what I will do. Everything I do now I want to work toward that fight.”

“He could get beat by Santa Cruz, and I believe Santa Cruz does beat him, Santa Cruz could offer me a fight with him – and I would turn it down because I want to fight Frampton.”

“That is what I want to do. I have to make sure people want to see that fight again.”

“They can avoid it, I can’t make him fight, but I want that fight because I believe he can beat him.”
