Quigg: “Frampton’s bothered – He doesn’t want the fight”

Scott Quigg has rubbished Carl Frampton’s accusation that he is the reason their potential super-fight has been put on ice and believes ‘The Jackal’ trying to shift the blame.

In a column for the Sunday Life, IBF super bantamweight world champion Frampton, wrote that “I think ultimately Quigg is to blame [for the fight not happening]”

Speaking on the Sky Sports podcast, Toe2Toe, Quigg responded to Frampton’s assertion by claiming “It doesn’t bother me but it shows he’s (Frampton’s) bothered.”

Continuing, the former British Champion said “It doesn’t bother me in the slightest. They can say what they want but this is a way of shifting the blame because the fight is not happening between me and him.”

Referring to Matchroom’s proposed 60-40 to the winner split, Quigg believes that Cyclone and Frampton are unwilling to fight him. The Englishman is adamant that “the fight’s not happening because they don’t want it to happen and that’s final. We offered 60-40 to them straight up and if they are that confident he would win that fight, they would take it anyway.”

Aiming one last barb at the Frampton and his team, Quigg concluded “He never made me an offer but the fight is by-the-by now, they are just trying to shift the blame on why the fight won’t happen.”
