Paddy Gallagher targeting THREE titles in 2019

Paddy Gallagher [14(9)-4(0)] has won two Celtic belts in recent years and is targeting two even bigger titles in 2019.

The Belfast welter won and defended the BBBoC Celtic crown versus Tony Dixon and Gary Murray respectively before winning the BUI Celtic light middleweight title versus Jay Byrne last time out.

Gallagher has since vacated his BBBoC Celtic title to allow stablemate Lewis Crocker challenge for it and the popular Lenadoon man is eyeing some more waist candy to replace it.

The Commonwealth gold medallist is targeting new British champion Johnny Garton as well as the European belt currently held by fearsome Spaniard Kerman Lejaragga. In addition to this, he also wants the Commonwealth title held, but likely to be soon vacated, by Olympian Josh Kelly.

First, though, Gallagher fights at the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast on Friday December 7th as he looks to set up a title-filled 2019.

Outlining his plans, Gallagher said that “this is not going to be the first time I’ve spoken about the British title. I promised it was the last time I’d speak about it after that fight! It’s frustrating me and maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree.”

“I’d love to fight the EBU European welterweight champion Kerman Lejarraga, who beat Frankie Gavin emphatically recently. I’m hoping that one can happen.”

“My perfect 2019 would be to beat him for the European title and then face Johnny Garton with both the European and the British title on the line. Then I’d love to get a Commonwealth title as well as a professional because I won a medal as an amateur.”
