New TV fight date for Jamie Cox

Swindon star Jamie Cox [20(12)-0] has been handed a new fight date as he looks to finally return to the ring.

The super middleweight of Donegal descent was due to appear on the undercard of the Marco Huck v Ovill McKenzie cruiserweight clash at the weekend in Frankfurt, but saw the show shelved due to McKenzie falling ill.

Cox need not despair however, as he has been added to the Boxnation show in Cardiff on Saturday October 22nd.

The highly-rated puncher has been out of action since his one round demolition of Ferenc Albert last November at the National Stadium in Dublin. Cox will be looking to blow away any rust that may have accumulated since, before continuing his chase for a big fight with any of the major names in the division.

The card at the Motorpoint Arena features Billy Joe Saunders first defence of the WBO middleweight title he won from Andy Lee last December, as well as a British light middleweight title clash between Welshman Liam Williams and Ahmet Patterson. The packed card also sees a British welterweight title bout between Bradley Skeete and Shayne Singleton, a third bout between Tom Stalker and Craig Evans, and appearances from Tommy Langford, Paul Butler, Alex Hughes, Anthony Yarde, Jay Harris, Nathanael Wilson, Leon Woodstock, and Chris Jenkinson.
