Tyrone McKenna was delighted with his win in Solihull on Saturday night.

The Belfast light welterweight put on a stylish performance to take every round against journeyman Danny Little on the MGM Birmingham ‘Momentum’ show at the Tudor Grange Leisure Centre.

Going six rounds for the third time, and despite being outweighed by 10lbs, ‘The Mighty Celt’ scored a comfortable 60:54 win and looked ready to make the next step in his career – perhaps a big fight on the Belfast Boxnation show.

Following his win over Little, McKenna spoke to IFL TV and described how “Daniel Little is a tough guy, he’s been in with the likes of Terry Flanagan, Tyrone Nurse, Ted Cheesman. He’s fought a lot of rising stars and I wanted to see how I’d compare to them – and I thought I boxed brilliant, one of my best performances to date, I’m absolutely delighted.”

The slick southpaw is looking to progress now and explained that “I’m going to sit down with MGM, my management and hopefully work out a plan.”

“I know they’ve got a date for me, but I can’t really say a lot at the minute, but there’s a big show in the pipeline,” teased McKenna.
