Nevin’s coach says there is pressure to perform but backs his man to put on a show

JOHN Joe Nevin has to impress on his pro debut, but having out boxed the best the amatuer world has to offer his coach is confident he will impress the American fight public tonight.

Nevinā€™sĀ longtime amateur trainer, Brian McKeown, has made the shift to the pro ranks with him. The pair have worked together back home in Mullingar, Ireland and in Philadelphia, Nevinā€™s home base stateside. And the Cavan BC man is confident the Olympic silver medal winner will not just be impressive tonight, but will have a successful profesional career.

ā€œJohn Joe has been boxing the best in the world for the last several years and he is well capable of looking after himself in any company,ā€ said McKeown. ā€œAt this stage in his debut itā€™s more important that he performs, that he impresses.
