Barry McGuigan believes that Carl Frampton v Scott Quigg is one of the biggest super bantamweight fights ever.

Indeed the Cyclone Promotions CEO feels that it is the most significant European clash in the history of the division.

Speaking today at the final pre-fight press conference in Manchester, the International Boxing Hall Of Fame member argued that “there has never been a super bantamweight fight of this magnitude in Europe.”

Quigg’s trainer Joe Gallagher has likened the clash to Erik Morales v Marco Antonio Barrera and McGuigan somewhat agreed with the coach, saying that “tt is being compared to Morales-Barrera, obviously I’m not saying it is, but it has those sort of echoes.”

“It’s going to be a fabulous occasion.”

The Manchester Arena-hosted bout is now just two days away and the feisty press conference has certainly upped the ante ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s weigh-in and Saturday’s long-anticipated clash.
