MASSIVE addition to upcoming Belfast small hall show

Kieran Farrell has made a massive addition to his upcoming entry to the Irish fight scene next month.

The young Manchester promoter, who has, recently signed up eleven Irish fighters, runs his first Belfast show – ‘A New Era’ – on Saturday April 22nd at the Devenish Complex.

This evening the small hall bash was given a glamorous, unprecedented boost with the addition of Cork-Cuban heavyweight Mike Perez [21(13)-2(1)-1].

The Rebel was due to headline the It’s A Bout Boxing Ireland show in Dublin this Saturday. However, following the cancellation of ‘Táimid Laochra’ this afternoon, Perez has been moved up north for a fight date three weeks later.

Perez has not fought in his adopted home since his one-round demolition of Pavels Dolgovs in Limerick back in November 2010.

Since this win, 31 year old Perez strolled to a high-profile Prizefighter win, and moved into title contention after his tragic win over Magomed Abdusalamov. Perez was then held to a draw by contender Carlos Takam, before defeats to Bryant Jennings and Alexander Povetkin. The Caribbean puncher has not boxed since the loss in Russia almost two years ago.

The card, co-headlined by an eight round fight between Tyrone’s Feargal McCrory and Liverpudlian Jay Carney, also features Joe Fitzpatrick, Mark Morris, Dan McShane, Sean McGlinchey, Sean Magee, Mathew Fitzsimons, and Ger Healy.
