Luke Wilton to fight for WBC International title on Frampton-Quigg undercard

Luke Wilton will have the opportunity to claim the first belt of his professional career this weekend

The flyweight faces Matchroom starlet Charlie Edwards on the Frampton-Quigg undercard at the Manchester Arena.

The Belfast flyweight, a huge underdog, was initially due to face the former European bronze medalist and current English champion in a British title eliminator. The bout was then upgraded to a final eliminator (with the winner facing Andrew Selby for the vacant title) and now the WBC International title has been added to the mix.

Wilton, who unsuccessfully challenged Kevin Satchell for the British and Commonwealth belts in 2012, has had a perfect training camp to prepare for Saturday’s bout and will be looking to drag the English youngster into deep waters.

While unconfirmed, the bout is expected to be the first fight of the PPV card shown live.
