Low Blows: Kurt Walker

After a few weeks off over the Christmas period, it is now time for the first Low Blows of 2017 – and it is worth the weight.

Taking the test today is reigning Elite bantamweight champion Kurt Walker, and the Lisburn bantamweight, a frequently mentioned name on Low Blows, brilliantly gets his own back on his team mates

Q: Hardest Trainer?
A: Would have to Mick Conlan. In camp he knows what he wants and nothing is going to stop him Big Breakfast [Dean Gardiner] also has to get a mention, he never stops!

Q: Biggest Moaner?
A: 100 percent Paddy Barnes. He just has days where he will yap just for the sake of it. He used to moan at me for snoring even though I wasn’t even asleep yet.

Q: Funniest?
A: Definitely has to go to Sean McComb, he comes out with something different every week. I room with him when we’re away just to make the weight loss a bit easier.

Q: Biggest Ladies’ Man?
A: Has to go to big Conor Wallace. Every time you look at him he’s on a phone texting someone, each day it’s a different girl.

Q: Most Intelligent?
A. Besides myself… would have to be Darren O’Neill seeing he’s a teacher and all.

Q: Least Intelligent?
A: No doubt about this, everyone says me, but it’s definitely Dean Walsh. He never seems to do anything right. He would buy a t-shirt off you for 100 quid that was worth 30 quid just for the sake of buying it… then sell it back to to you for 20 quid two days later.

Q: Hardest Puncher?
A: I haven’t really been in with many big punchers to be honest, but when I have been caught by a clean hard punch it’s been by Mick Conlan and Sean McComb.

Q: Most Naturally Talented?
A: I would say Mick Conlan and Joe Ward for this. Mick can do more or less anything and when Joe wants, he can move around like a bantamweight.

Q: Cheapest?
A: Conor Wallace. I remember, one day driving home from Dublin, he got a phone call from the bank to see if he was still alive as it had been that long from when he last used his card.

Q: Worst Dancer?
A: Paddy Barnes. I honestly don’t know what he even tries to do when he dances, it’s a bit depressing.

Q: Worst Dress Sense?
A: Worst dress sense goes to Hughie Myers. He loved the Crosshatch jumper with the boot cut jeans tucked into the shoes.

Q: Biggest Messer?
A: This is a toss up between Paddy Barnes and Sean McComb. Paddy on his best day would run away with it though as he would do anything to win.
