July 18th opponent named for Jono Carroll

Carl Frampton is not the only Irish fighter in action on July 18th. While ‘The Jackal’ defends his IBF super bantamweight title in El Paso, Texas – Jono Carroll [7(1)-0] will be stepping into the ring back across the pond in Manchester.

The super featherweight starlet fights in a six rounder on the undercard of Scott Quigg’s bout with Kiko Martinez.

It has been revealed that ‘King Kong’ will face off against Nottingham’s Barrington Brown [6(2)-12(2)-3].

While the 33 year old’s record may seem below par, upon further inspection one can see that the Englishman has shared the ring with many top Britsh prospects such as Stephen Smith, Jazza Dickens, Troy James, and Joe Murray.

23 year old Carroll, who trains under Paschal Collins in the Celtic Warriors Gym, and is now promoted by Matchroom having won Prizefighter Lightweights last year, will be hoping to put on another eye-catching performance against the durable journeyman in front of the SKY cameras.
