JOE Rea will challenge for the Australian title in two weeks time.
The Australian based Ballymena man will be hoping to shoot down the ‘Fighting Cowboy’ at the second attempted having faced Australian champion Dwight Ritchie in a non title fight in May.
Rea, who failed to win any of his last 11 fights although he did manage three draws and has felt hard done by on more than one occasion, believes he won his first battle with Ritchie and is confident of causing an upset.
The former Prizefighter contestant steps in as a late replacement for Luke Sharp, but has been in training for an August 28 date.
The middleweight title fight will be broadcast live on Gem TV Channel 9, aug 14
