Joe Hillerby: I am back and buzzing

HE has moved from light middleweight to cruiserweight since he was last regularly active, but Joe Hillerby says his sole hunger is now for boxing.

The former Irish title challenger has only fought once since 2012 after a dodgy decision against Phil Fury and a dislocated shoulder in an Irish title fight with Lee Murtagh quashed his desire somewhat.

He returns against Dee Taggart in the Anderstown Leisure Centre on Saturday and begins what he believes will be prolonged and successful comeback.

“I’m very excited to be back,” HIllerby told Irish-boxing.com.

“It’s been too long. I had lost the hunger for it and wasn’t giving it one hundred percent, but now my head is back in the game and want to get back to business. Saturday is about getting my name back out there and putting in a good performance. I’m fit and ready and all being well I will be active this year. I’m going to move down the weights and see how I feel. The buzz is back and I’m really just gonna enjoy this fight on Saturday.”
