Irish trio added to Murphys Boxing show

Three Irish boxers will feature on a second Murphys Boxing card next month.

The Boston-based outfit run a show on Saturday May 13th at the Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville and will run another night of boxing just seven days later.

This second date, on Saturday May 20th, will take place at the Melrose Memorial Hall and will feature three Irish fighters.

In the co-headline bout of the night Donegal welterweight Michael McLaughlin Owen [12(5)-2(0)-1] will look to quickly bounce back from his title loss last month. The Inishowen man was outpointed by Danny O’Connor in a topsy-turvy New England welterweight title bout at the House of Blues on March 18th, but saw his stock rise following the eight-round war.

Celtic Warriors light middleweight Bernard Roe [4(0)-0] will make his American debut on the bill. Injury and cancelled dates have kept the Dubliner out of the ring since last Summer and will be looking to get back into contention with an impressive performance here.

Finally there is yet another fight date for Mayo light welter Ray Moylette [2(0)-0]. The Islandeady boxer appears alongside Spike O’Sullivan on the May 13th Murphys show, and has an Irish debut set for June 24th at the National Stadium, and will now have a third scheduled date sandwiched in here. This date is, obviously, contingent on Moylette coming through his fight in Plainville unscathed.

Also featuring on the card are Khiry Todd, Dominic Monzione, Travis Gambardella, Carlos Gongora, Iro Yourgo, and Ray Jay Bermudez, with Greg Vendetti topping the bill.
