Irish lightening to strike again-Byrne hoping for quick return to the mix

Dean ‘Irish lightening’ Byrne is reinvigorated after year break from boxing and is looking to strike again in 2015.

The former Freddie Roach trained welterweight contemplated hanging up his gloves after exciting Prizefigther at the quarter final stage last May just two months after being out pointed by rising Russian star Roman Belaev over 12 rounds.

However, the Dubliner has elected to give it one more go and returns at York Hall on May 16. Journey man William Warburton provides the opposition in a four round comeback fight, but once the cob webs are removed Byrne will be targeting big fights.

“I am returning at the York Hall on May 16,” Byrne told Irish-boxing.com.

“The year out has done me the world of good and now its time to get back in there and get some big fights.

“Im training now with Peter Sims and we are  looking to move quickly. The aim is to  get back in the mix and go from there.

“I have been out in Marbella for the last 10 days training and I would like to thank all at the MGM Marbella for the use of gym and for looking after us so well. Camp has gone great and I am looking forward to my next fight and the future. I can’t wait to shake the cobwebs off and crack on.”
