Ireland name strong team for European Youth Championships

Ireland will send a seven-strong squad to the European Youth Championships in Turkey later this month.

The tournament begins in Antalya on Saturday October 21st at the Ozkaymak Falez Hotel and runs until Sunday October 29th.

World Youth bronze medalist Gabriel Dossen, and World Junior silver medalists Eamer Coughlan and Paddy Donovan are all included as they round off their underage career’s and all three will be big medal hopes.

First year Youths David Oliver Joyce, cousin of the Rio Olympian, and Terry Donoghue, a silver medalist at last year’s European Juniors are also on the panel alongside Crumlin’s Craig Kavanagh and Sligo’s Jordan Myers – who won European Schoolboys gold back in 2013.

All seven members, currently in training camp in Belfast, won National U-18 titles back in May.
