Conrad Cummings signs with Mack The Knife Global
It has been announced this afternoon that Tyrone middleweight Conrad Cummings [11(5)-1(0)-1] has linked up with Irish management outfit Mack The Knife Global.
The move comes following ‘Mr Dynamite’s’ split with the McGuigan family.
Cummings has linked up with trainer Jamie Moore, joining former Cyclone stablemate Carl Frampton in the VIP Gym in Manchester and now also joins ‘The Jackal’ with MTK.
“I’m delighted to be on board” Cummings said. “MTK are the biggest name in boxing at the moment and always deliver for their boxers.”
“I know I have what it takes to be a world champion and it’s all about getting the right fights and putting in the work at the gym. Having the team at MTK behind me is exactly what I need at this stage of my career and I know they will deliver those opportunities when the time is right.”
MTK Global added that “we are delighted to welcome Conrad to the team. He’s a boxer with excellent ability and we believe he will achieve great things in the sport. The Middleweight division is an exciting weight class and we look forward to seeing Conrad in some great contests.”
Cummings joins the stable alongside some of his middleweight rivals.
Following his third round stoppage of Gogi Knezevic in his most recent fight in March, Cummings claimed the WBO European title and is now ranked #14 with the body.
The Coalisland fighter is keen to take on champion Billy Joe Saunders – who today was mandated to face David Lemieux.
Saunders is managed by MTK – as is Belfast middleweight Alfredo Meli [13(3)-0-1] who drew with Cummings in one of the Fights of the Year back in 2015.
An MTK debut date for Cummings, perhaps on the ‘Frampton Reborn’ card, will be announced shortly.
