Hyland wants to give NYC another fighting Irish man to love- plans a quick fire stoppage this weekend

PATRICK Hyland is eager to get his St Patrick’s Day celebrations started early with a quick fire victory in New York this weekend.

‘The Punisher’ takes on Maneul de los Reyes Herrera in Madison Square Garden on Saturday night and plans to register career win 30 before 15 minutes has past.

The Tallaght native is keen to catch the eye and impress his way onto an American show in April. Hyland is predicting a stoppage win and some Paddy’s weekend celebrations.

“I’m going to blow this guy out of there within 5 rounds and hopefully chat with lads to get me out again next month hopefully on a big show in April,” Hyland told Irish-boxing.com before suggesting he wants to live up to the ‘Fighting Irish’ stereotype.

“I’m very excited about fighting at the MSG, as it is the weekend before St Patrick’s Day the City is always packed. It’s a super weekend to be part off. I watched Macklin fight there (against Sergio Martinez on St Patricks Day) and seen the support he got from the Irish. I know this fight isn’t for a title like Matthews was but New Yorkers love a fighting Irish man and that’s what I want to do is excite them.”
