Georgian on My Mind for Geraghty as Tennyson title clash looms

This Saturday Declan Geraghty will warm up for his Irish super featherweight title fight next month with James Tennyson with a six-round bout in Belfast.

The Dubliner will feature on the Jamie Conlan-headlined ‘Homecoming’ show at the Titanic Exhibition Centre and will face Georgian opposition in the form of Khvicha Gigolashvili [14(3)-15(7)].

Gigolashvili is primarily a bantamweight and should not pose much problems to former elite amateur Geraghty [13(3)-1(0)]. In the past two months however the Eastern European has but on spirited displays in Britain, losing on points to Ross Murray and Jamie Speight.

Geraghty said that “I’m really excited. The boxing fans always make for special nights in Belfast and November 5th will be on another level. This will be my fourth fight of 2016 and it’s really helped build some momentum.”

The undercard in the Titanic City also features Sean Turner, Con Sheehan, Stephen Ormond, Gary Sweeney, Marco McCullough, Steven Ward, Paddy Barnes, and the mouthwatering clash between Tyrone McKenna and Sean Creagh.
