Frampton v Santa Cruz II – Undercard Update

The undercard for Carl Frampton‘s WBA featherweight title rematch with Leo Santa Cruz in Las Vegas next month is nearly finalised.

The card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Satuday January 28th now features nine fights.

As previously announced, chief support comes from the mouth watering WBC lightweight title fight between Dejan Zlaticanin [22(15)-0] and Mikey Garcia [35(29)-0]. A third world title fight will feature, with IBF featherweight champion, and potential future Frampton foe, Lee Selby [23(8)-1(0)] defending his belt against Argentinian mandatory challenger Jonathan Victor Barros [41(22)-4(1)-1].

Another featherweight clash, between contenders Jorge Lara [28(20)-0-2] and Oktay Takalak [16(5)-0] will also take place over ten rounds.

Frampton’s Cyclone stablemate Josh Taylor [7(7)-0] will fight in America for a third time in a ten round bout. Red hot super middleweight prospect David Benavidez [16(15)-0] is also scheduled to appear, while there will be some familiar faces Santa Cruz with stablemate Ivan Redkach [19(15)-2(1)-1] and cousin Antonio [4(2)-2(0)] down to feature.

Finally, featherweight Luis Gerardo Perez [1(0)-0] will fight in a four rounder.

It is believed that there will be further additions to the card over the coming weeks, and Tyrone middleweight Conrad Cummings [10(4)-1(0)-1], stablemate of Frampton, is one who is hopeful for a slot on the bill.
