Frampton: I can’t understand Quigg- he has more demands this time round

Carl Frampton believes Scott Quigg is pricing himself out of a mega clash with the IBF super bantamweight World champion.

‘The Jackal’ would ‘love’ nothing more than to settle his differences with the Matchroom super bantamweight, but indicates negotiations, which have proved difficult in the past, have hit another impasse.

The Belfast fan favourite claims Quigg’s demands have increased since team Cyclone Promotions and Matchroom talked after Frampton’s impressive demolition of Chris Avalos early this year.

Quigg, who has registered a career best win against Kiko Martinez in the mean time, has since been talking up a fight with Nonito Donaire , but Frampton claims he brings a legitimate World title  and more money to the table.

“Make no mistake, I’d love the Quigg fight next, but he seems to be demanding too much money – even more demands than before he beat Kiko Martinez. I just can’t understand Quigg. He can make more money from fighting with me than anyone else, and even if he beats Donaire, he’ll still not be a world champion,” Frampton said in his Sunday Life column.

The Jackal also indicated he hasn’t heard much from Matchroom re the bout and suggested while he wants to squeeze in another defence before taking on Leo Santa Cruz he doesn’t foresee Quigg manning the opposite corner.
