Frampton and Quigg to fight in Manchester in February?
Eddie Hearn has said that he is more confident than ever of making a clash between IBF super bantamweight World champion Carl Frampton and WBA ‘regular’ titlist Scott Quigg.
The Matchroom boss, who has been all out to make the massive and eagerly anticipated dust up since February, will sit down with Cyclone Promotions tomorrow (Tuesday September 22) and try and hammer out a deal.
Negotiations have previously proved tough but speaking to prolific You Tube channel IFL TV today Hearn claims he is hopeful the fight can be made by the end of the week.
If terms are agreed Hearn says the clash will most likely take place in February, with an out door venue not plausible in Belfast at that time of the year and the Odyssey Arena possible to small for the meeting of the rivals Manchester and the Manchester Arena would most likely play host to the clash.
“I am more confident than ever this fight can get made between Quigg and Frampton. We are meeting tomorrow. I am not getting to excited but I think we have a great chance,” Hearn told IFL TV.
“There is every chance Scott Quigg will fight in February if its Donaire or Frampton, if not he will be on the December 12 bill. I am hoping by the end of this week the Frampton fight is made. If we can make it February will be the date.”
