John Delaney Cup

Bansha Celtic- 3

St Michael’s-1

A sensational 15 minute hat trick from Bernard Fitzgerald helped Bansha Celtic make history on Thursday night.

The Tipperary side were the surprise package of the TSDL top flight last season finishing second to eventual winners St Michaels despite just being promoted the summer previous and defied the odds again with victory at Cahir Park.

Bansha won the John Delaney Cup for the first time and did so with an impressive victory over the team that beat them to the title by eight points last season.

Fitzgerald was the hero as his second half hat trick ensured the impressive and historic win.

Fitzgerald found the net three times in just 15 minutes as Celtic beat the Saints in what should prove a confidence boost ahead of the a season which kicks off on August 17.
