Egan and co to undergo Olympic Test

The Irish Amateur Boxing  Association have named a six-man squad for next week’s Olympic Test Event in  London.
The tournament, which will be contested on a  last-eight basis in each weight category, begins at the ExCel, the venue for  boxing at the 2012 Olympic Games, next Thursday.
Ken Egan, who has been named at  light-heavyweight in the squad, Declan Geraghty, David Oliver Joyce, Conrad  Cummings, Tommy McCarthy and Con Sheehan will represent Ireland  in London.

Irish head coach Billy Walsh said  that he expects most of the world’s Elite boxing  nations will be competing in the  English capital

.“Hopefully, we’ll have as many boxers as  possible back in London again next year for the real  thing,” added Ken  Egan
John Joe Nevin, Darren O’Neill  and Michael Conlan qualified  for the 2012 Olympics from last month’s  AIBA World Championships in  Baku.
