Dublin Coach outlines hardline PEDs stance
Paschal Collins says he would ‘drop kick’ his fighters out of his gym if he found out they were using performance-enhancing drugs.
The drugs issue more than just reared its head last week, it took centre stage in the sporting world, as a failed Connor Benn test prompted his proposed fight with Chris Eubank Jr to be cancelled along with the ‘Born Rivals’ card.
The entire boxing world expressed an opinion as the news broke and as Matchroom and Wasserman’s tried to ensure the eagerly anticipated clash still went ahead.
Collins didn’t comment directly on Benn, a son of his brother Steve Collins‘s former rival, Nigel Benn, but did let his feelings on doping be known.
The respected and experienced coach says no to drugs and has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to PEDS.
Speaking online ,Collins labelled doping cheats ‘cowards’ and said he would permanently expel anyone from his gym if they doped.
“If any of my fighters tested positive or if I ever found out they were taking Peds they would be drop-kicked out the front door never to return. No room in our sport for cheating cowards,” he said online.
