Double title whammy for Anthony Upton

It is not just the English title that Anthony Upton [11(4)-0] will be fighting for on December 5th.

The Belfast-raised light welterweight faces the tough challenge of Joe Hughes [13(6)-1(0)] for the belt in Walsall, but he now knows that the fight will also act as a British title eliminator.

If Upton wins next month he will face the winner of the British title rematch between Tyrone Nurse and Chris Jenkins that plays out on Saturday in the Manchester Arena.

The Ricky Hatton-trained fighter, and youngest of the three boxing brothers, will be confident of victory in two weeks time and securing a shot at the British belt.
