Doheny ready to dine at super bantam top table-enters the world top 10

TJ Doheny is moving closer to a World title shot and becoming a name in a division that boasts the likes of Guillermo Rigondeaux, Leo Santa Cruz, Scott Quigg and our own IBF World Champion Carl Frampton.

The Australian-based Portlaoise native has secured a top 10 World ranking with the WBA after just after just 13 pro fights.

‘The Power’ defended his PABA Continental title by stopping former two weight World champion Denkaosan Kaovichit last weekend and the victory has helped him move up to eight in the rankings.

The 28 year old southpaw, who holds an amateur win over Carl Frampton and turned down a last minute offer to fight Scott Quigg last year, will now be hoping to use his ranking to secure big fights.

The WBA ‘super’ champion is none other than Guillermo Rigondeaux, but Scott Quigg is also a title holder in the division, as is Mexican Moises Flores.
