An opponent has been announced for the professional debut of former amateur stand-out Gary ‘The Gallant’ Sweeney. The Galway cruiserweight fights in South Africa on September 19th and will face local boxer, Jean Lutete [0-1(0)], in his first paid outing.

While most begin their careers on small hall shows, European youth silver medalist Sweeney will box at the Emperor’s Palace Casino in Gauteng on the undercard of a Hekkie Budler’s defence of his WBA minnimumweight title. In addition, the card will be televised worldwide through ESPN.
