1997: Despite being knocked down after 10 seconds, Steve Collins recovered to stop Craig Cummings in the 3rd round to defend his WBO super middleweight title for a seventh time at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow. The win would be the Dubliner’s final fight as Collins retired later that year after withdrawing from a scheduled fight with Joe Calzaghe due to injury.

2008: Paulie Hyland outpointed Marc Callaghan over ten (98:93) to claim the Irish super bantamweight title in front of his home crowd at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght. The youngest Hyland brother remains the only man to have held the Irish 122lbs belt.

2008: On the same card, Manchester-born Jamie Moore stopped Belfast’s Ciaran Healy in the 3rd round to claim the Irish light middleweight title. The ranking given by this win allowed Moore to fight for, and win, the European title in his next fight
