Date and venue set for Tommy McCarthy v Matty Askin
A date and venue have been set for Tommy McCarthy’s scheduled British cruiserweight title final eliminator with English champion Matty Askin [20(13)-3(1)]
The undefeated Belfast fighter will take on Askin at the Bolton Whites Hotel on Saturday October 22nd on a VIP Boxing show.
McCarthy’s [9(5)-0] promoter Pat Magee won the purse bids for the clash and has come to an agreement with VIP Boxing’s Steve Wood for the bout to play out on his show.
British champion Ovill McKenzie was due to face Craig Kennedy in a title defence, but has instead elected to fight for the minor IBO World title against Juergen Braehmer in Frankfurt on September 24th.
