Conrad Cummings claims crushing KO win in Scotland

Conrad Cummings blasted his way to the biggest win of his career and the WBO European title this evening in Scotland.

The Coalisland middleweight had been due to face Ronnie Mittag in an IBF Inter-Continental title rematch two weeks ago in Cardiff, however through withdrawal and postponement, the Tyrone banger found himself fighting at the Meadowbank Arena in Edinburgh tonight.

Here he took on Austrian Gogi Knezevic for the WBO rankings title and bombed his Central European opponent out inside three rounds.

The Cyclone Promotions fighter began quickly, flooring Knezevic heavily at the end of the first and then again with a left in the third. While his veteran opponent beat the count, the bout was waved off with Knezevic looking dazed.

The win sees Cummings move to 11(5)-1(0)-1, while Knezevic falls to 31(13)-7(7)-1.

More importantly, the win grants him a spot in the WBO 160lbs Top 15, a ladder currently topped by Englishman Billy Joe Saunders.
