KO win for ‘The Ginger Ninja’ Chris Blaney in Dublin

Chris Blaney made it two stoppage wins from two as a pro in the National Stadium.

The Navan man took out former Alan Donnellan foe Gabor Zsalek 1:39 into round two to extend his knock out run at the home of Irish boxing.

The ‘Ginger Ninja’ came out all guns blazing to stop David Bauza when he debuted at the venue where he won ten Irish titles as an amateur, but got the same result via a more patient approach this time round, pushing his record to 4(2)-0 in the process.

Blaney was in control from the off and seemed comfortable in the knowledge a win was on the cards.

Indeed, in round one it looked like he was consciously working on head movement and picking his shots. He landed some crisp body shots and a beautifully set up right hand that Zsalek took well.

Patience was a virtue the Ricky Hatton-trained fighter continued to show in the second stanza, but when he got caught with a slap he responded in kind and dropped his opponents guard with a body shot before rattling him with a left hook and sending him crashing to the canvas with the same shot all in a matter of seconds to finish the fight
