Casey could bully the Kid in the New Year

WILLIE Casey could yet get the chance to bully Kid Galahad despite the fact his much anticipated clash with one of Sheffield’s rising star, which was set for Saturday was called off.

Former Prizefighter winner, Big Bang was hoping to use the bout on the under card of Tyson Fury’s latest ring adventure to re-explode onto the British consciousness and make a decent first impression on the American TV audience.

Gallahad, however, pulled out with a hand injury and faces a ‘keep busy’ six rounder on against a yet to be named opponent on Saturday instead.

Casey is obviously upset, but his present dark cloud has a silver lining and he is still on course to face the English prospect as soon as January 28.

“Willie is still fighting on the show on Saturday. He will fight a six round keep busy fight. It is disappointing he will not be fighting Galahad especially after he did so well against Kodjo last time out. It is also a shame he won’t be live on the television across Britain and in America,” Gary Hyde told www.irish-boxing.com before revealing the fight is still in the pipeline.

“We have already talked about Willie and Kid Galahad for January 28. Provided Tyson Fury gets through this one he should be fighting then and we are talking about Willie as chief support bout.”
