Ciaran McVarnock will fight for the first time in seven months when he returns to the ring in May.

The Belfast super featherweight will fight a yet to be confirmed opponent on May 13 in Bolton.

The bout, which could possibly be ‘Bunty’s’ first six rounder, will play out on the undercard of Jack Catterall’s WBO Intercontinental defence and will most likely be broadcast on Boxnation.

McVarnock, who looks set to be one of the fighters who could benefit from Frank Warren’s interest in James Tennyson and Jamie Conlan, is unbeaten in six fights and will be looking to improve his slate to 6-0-1 in May.
