Big Sexy OFF Belfast show tonight
In what is very disappointing news for the boxer and fans alike, Dublin heavyweight Sean Turner [9(6)-0] has been forced off the show at the Devenish Complex in Belfast tonight.
‘Big Sexy’ was due to feature prominently on the inaugural Ginley Promotions bill – ‘Dust Up at the Devenish.’
Here he was set to make a step up in terms of rounds and opposition, taking on game Polish puncher Kamil Sokolowski [2(0)-9(2)-2].
However, the Dubliner revealed this morning that he will be unable to fight on the card due to ‘paperwork.’
Turner released a statement explaining that “due to matters out of my hands, the British Boxing Board will not give the go ahead for my fight tonight after seven weeks in the gym of hard work.”
“Unfortunately this is boing and it’s a bullshit matter of paperwork.”
Six fights remain on the card:
Ciaran McVarnock v Antonio Horvatic
Ian Tims v Florians Strupits
Stephen Ormond v Norwin Galo
Anto Upton v Zaurs Saudihovs
Tyrone McCullagh v Michael Barnor
Alfredo Meli v Laszlo Fazekas
