Anthony Joshua reveals who he would like Katie Taylor to fight next

Forget Amanda Serrano, Anthony Joshua would love to see Katie Taylor and Nathasa Jonas run it back.

The former heavyweight champion of the world, who has always been extremely complimentary to Taylor and the Irish fight fans, put forward the Liverpool fighter’s name when asked who he’d like to see the Irish sensation in with next.

Providing, as expected, one of Ireland’s greatest-ever sports stars defeats Karen Elizabeth Carabajal in London this weekend, the Matchroom heavyweight would like to see Taylor Jonas III.

“For me personally, I’d like to see a rematch with Natasha Jonas, she’s an amazing talent, Tasha,” Joshua told DAZN’s Ade Oladipo.

“They had a great fight.”

Taylor and Jonas first meet in the first-ever female Olympic boxing bout in London 2012 and the crowd in attendance set a decibel record during the lightweight clash.

When they rematched in the pros a highly entertaining encouther took place behind closed doors, Joshua feels the pairing deserves a public forum and thus suggests it’s worth making despite the fact Taylor has twice beaten ‘Miss GB’.

“To have it now in front of thousands of people, that first fight I was there and I thought that it was a real good dust-up.

“I was really invested in the fight and they fought in the amateurs as well, so even though they have fought already, I think that would be a massive fight.”

Jonas has since gone on to team up with Boxxer and is one her own unification mission up the weights, so a third meeting looks unlikely.
