Addition made to Frampton v Santa Cruz rematch undercard
The first addition to the Carl Frampton v Leo Santa Cruz undercard has tonight been confirmed.
‘The Jackal’ defends his WBA featherweight title for the first time on January 28th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Already confirmed as co-main event is Montenegrin Dejan Zlaticanin, who defends his WBC lightweight title against Mikey Garcia.
Now, Frampton’s Cyclone stablemate Josh Taylor [7(7)-0] has announced that he will appear on the bill in Sin City.
The Scottish former amateur star has enjoyed a break-out 2016 which saw him win four times and claim Commonwealth light welterweight honours in just his seventh fight with a stunning stoppage win over Dave Ryan in Edinburgh in October
It will be ‘The Tartan Tornado’s’ third American fight, having fought on Frampton undercards in El Paso and New York.
It is hoped that Frampton’s Irish Cyclone stablemate Conrad Cummings will also secure a spot on the bill – having himself also featured on the El Paso and New York cards. Indeed Cummings was involved in a hugely entertaining fight during the Summer at the Barclays Centre against Dante Moore.
