Aaron McKenna fight tonight OFF
Aaron McKenna [8(5)-0] will NOT fight tonight in California.
The Monaghan welterweight was due to box on the undercard of promotional and managerial stablemate Jason Quigley at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio.
Quigley tops the card defending his WBC-NABF middleweight rankings title versus Bahamian Tureano Johnson and McKenna was set to feature in a six-round contest.
It was to be a rapid return to the ring for ‘The Silencer’ who last fought on June 21st but McKenna will now have to wait a few months.
Last night it was confirmed that the 20-year-old was off the Golden Boy Promotions bill due to issues with his proposed opponent.
McKenna will be disappointed, no doubt, but is already building towards a fight in the Autumn and his first since bringing onboard top trainer Robert Garcia.
The Sheer Sports top prospect explained how “unfortunately, I wont be fighting tomorrow due to unforeseen circumstances with a possible opponent.”
“But don’t worry I will be back in action around September-October. See you all then!”
“Thanks everyone for the continued support.”
