Carl Frampton v Scott Quigg talks underway
Talks to make a mega bout between Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg are underway, claims the Bury super bantamweight.
Post IBF World champion Carl Frampton’s impressive defence against Chris Avalos both fighters seemed more than keen to ensure a clash that has been brewing for over five years made.
As with any big boxing bout there are certain things that need to be ironed out before a contract is signed, but Quigg claims ‘talks’ are on going and he is hopeful the clash will be made.
āWeāre in talks now and itās going well. Hopefully, fingers crossed, it can be made because itās the fight the public deserve,” said the WBA regular champion.
āIāll fight in Belfast, Manchester or London. It doesnāt matter. Iām 100 per cent confident I will get the job done. I know what I have to do.
āAfter his performance on Saturday night, a lot of people are writing me off. It doesnāt matter. I know what I need to do and Iāll prove a lot of people wrong when that fight gets made.
āItās another George Groves v Carl Froch. It captures the imagination of not just boxing fans but the general public too.
āThere couldnāt be a better time ā weāre both undefeated and both World champions. It just sets it up for a great fight.
āItās the fight I want, he wants and the British public want. What gives me confidence is that if Floyd Mayweather Jr v Manny Pacquiao can be made, Iām sure me and Carl Frampton can get made,ā he added.
