Micheal Conlan will have a career of ‘monster proportions’ claims promoter Bob Arum.

The legendary 85 year old promoter has the Belfast fighter debuting in New York on St Patrick’s Day is not only backing the Belfast fighter to become a World champion of note, but claims the former Olympian will turn Madison Square Garden, the Meccas of Boxing to the   “O’Mecca of Boxing.” over the next five years.

Arum and Top Rank are going big on all things green with the London 2012 Olympic medal winner, something which could benefit Irish fighters on a whole.

Indeed, Arum claims he has The Garden booked around St Patrick’s weekend for the next five years just for the younger brother of super flyweight World title hopeful Jamie Conlan.

“St. Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland and last summer, Mick Conlan drove the snakes out of AIBA and the Olympics. He stood up for himself at the Olympics and the world stood up with him when he cheated out of his dream,” said the Top Rank Boss man in New York this week.

“He’s a phenomenon. We are going to build his career to monster proportions. We have reserved The Garden for the next five St. Patrick’s Days for Mick. The St Patrick’s Day parade starts here.”
