Luke Keeler and Tom Doran rematch will happen

It lasted less than six minutes, but had more drama the most 12 round World title fights and as a result there was fan rematch clamour within seconds of the fight being waved off.

Calling for a repeat of a fight in which one middleweight got a second round stoppage is rare, but Luke Keeler versus Tom Doran was a clash that could have went either way and fans would be hard pressed to call come rematch time.

Keeler’s coach Pascal Collins claim the repeat is inevitable, but doesn’t think it should happen straight away.

The Celtic Warrior Gym boss believes the pair, who have now fought twice with Doran boasting a points Prizefighter win and a second round stoppage victory over the Dubliner, but is adamant they should wait till one or the other has a significant title.

“Will there be a third fight? No doubt about it. It is one everyone wants to see again and it will happen, but not straight away. I am sure Luke would love to take it straight away, but it could be a big money fight for both down the line,” Collins said.

“Let them go and do their own thing for a bit now go win titles and then make it again. There is nothing really to gain by throwing them back in together straight away.”
