Borg ready to take Cummings’ unbeaten record

Due to the fact he is promoted by Cyclone Promotions Conrad Cummings could be deemed the home fighter when he faces Frankie Borg in Cardiff on May 14.

However, the former Welsh middleweight champion lives within a mile of the Ice Rink the fight will be held in and is keen to enjoy home comforts of his own on the undercard of Lee Haskin’s World title defence.

Borg (9-5) is on a three fight losing streak and is determined to get eventually get into double figures- and he believes there is no better place to do it than in his home town.

“I’ve lost my last three fights so I want to get my 10th victory in my hometown.

“If I can get a good win then I’ll push up the rankings as well.”

Borg admits he is under dog going into the clash with Coal Island’s Cummings, but he claims the pressure is on the former Irish amateur and WSB standout.

“I can’t wait for this fight in Cardiff. It’s not an easy one to get back into it but I’m fighting on home turf and the pressure is on him because he’s unbeaten.”

“I’ve got a chance to take that unbeaten record away from him and I’m looking to get back to winning ways myself.”

If Borg fans are not that confident they can check out Free Bets before punting.
