Wilton ready to grab big opportunity on ‘Return of the Mack’ card

BELFAST little man Luke Wilton is ready to grab his ‘big chance’ with both gloved hands in the National Stadium on August 30.

The 25 year old will challenge rising Matchroom star Kal Yafai for the super flyweight Commonwealth title live on Sky Sports on The Return of The Mack card in Dublin and is determined to make the most of the opportunity.

The former British and Commonwealth flyweight title challenger has being campaigning had been hoping to get another shot at the domestic flyweight straps that former foe Kevin Satchell will vacate when challenging for the European title.

However, a chance to scalp the much touted Yafai live on Sky Sports proved too much for ‘Winky’ to turn down and the Belfast fighter makes the easy transition to super fly to fight the Commonwealth title.

“I’m very happy to get another shot at Commonwealth,” Wilton told Irish-boxing.com

“As soon as they offered us the fight I said yes, I had no hesitation. Yafai is a good fighter, but I’m always confident in my ability and what I can do in the ring.

“This a big chance on a big show with Sky coverage, a chance I couldn’t refuse and a big opportunity than I intend to take.”
