WATCH: When Irish-Boxing.com met Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua boxes tomorrow night at Wembley Stadium in one of the highest-profile fights in modern times.
The Watford heavyweight defends his IBF title and looks to add the WBA belt to his collection when he takes on Ukrainian legend Wladimir Klitschko live on Sky Box Office.
Joshua has had a rather meteoric rise up through the ranks – indeed less than three years ago he was preparing for a fight at the National Stadium in Dublin.
The Olympic gold medalist was set to fight Yaroslav Zavorotnyi at the home of Irish boxing on the later-postponed ‘Return of the Mack’ card. – Joshua would not fight on the refixed card.
The press conference to announce the show, headlined by Matthew Macklin v Jorge Sebastian Heiland, took place at Croke Park and Joshua made the trip across the Irish Sea for the event.
Afterwards Joshua spoke to Irish-Boxing.com chief Jonny Stapleton about the Zavorotnyi fight, his Irish grandmother, as well as having some kind words for Mick Conlan.
