02 September 2009 – By Cormac Campbell

New York-based Wicklowman James Moore will return to action with a USBA title tilt versus Derek Ennis at the Blue Horizon in Philadephia on October 16.

The 12-round clash, sees light-middleweight Moore (17-2) go in to the lions den against the hometown hero Ennis (18-2-1).

Speaking to irish-boxing.com, the 31-year-old said he was looking forward to the fight.

Its a 12 rounder and puts the winner in the top 15 in the WBA ratings, he beamed.

I’ve already signed the contract and am in full time training. The fight is in his hometown but its one I’m confident about because he is only 5’8 and both his loses came by way of knock out. I use my reach well and if I keep it at distance I should have no problem!

Meanwhile, the recently married John Duddy looks set to return to action vs Mexicos Michi Munoz, (21-3) at Madison Square Garden on October 10.

The bout, which sees both men return after defeats, offers the Derryman, 26-1 the chance to reestablish himself on the middleweight scene.
