Tough Test for Taylor on Cacace undercard

Cyclone Promotions’s Josh Taylor will face a massive test in just his second professional fight. The Scottish lightweight will face Hungarian champion Adam Mate [15(8)-5(3)] on the undercard of Anto Cacace’s Celtic title fight in Edinburgh on October 16th.

Irish fans may remember Adam Mate as the man that Stephen Ormond defeated to win the WBO European title in 2013.

2012 Olympian Taylor made an impressive professional debut in July on the undercard of Carl Frampton’s IBF super bantamweight title defence in El Paso – scoring a second round stoppage over Archie Weah.

‘The Tartan Tornado,’ who is trained by Shane McGuigan in Battersea, will now have his sights set on putting in an impressive homecoming performance against a very dangerous opponent on the ‘Lift Off’ card.
