Tommy McCarthy to make home debut on “Champions Night” at the Devenish Complex
FORMER world ranked amateur heavyweight Tommy McCarthy has been added to the massive ‘Champions Night’ fight card and will make his home debut in Belfast on October 4.
The two time National Senior Champion and Irish International of note turned over in June after teaming up with Belfast manager Pat Magee and has racked up two on the road KO victories, positioning himself in the top 25 of the British cruiserweight rankings in the process.
McCarthy will join a list of the country’s top prospects on a bumper 12 fight card headlined by James Tennyson, Daniel “Insane” McShane and Dee Walsh at the newly refurbished Devenish Complex at Finaghy Rd North, Belfast.
And the Belfast big man is excited about showcasing his talent in front of his home fans.
“It’s fantastic to be making my much anticipated Belfast debut on such a fantastic card, I would like to thank Pat and Mark Dunlop for making this dream come true,” said McCarthy before his manager pat Magee had a say.
“Mark has been doing an amazing job with all his boxers and it is great to finally be working with him. Tommy now has the chance to showcase is talents in front of his home crowd.”
