Clondalkin cruiserweight Ian ‘The Tank’ Tims [11(3)-3(2)] has signed with MGM and is looking to begin a Irish boxing Indian Summer.

The Irish cruiserweight champ, 36, has been out of the ring since his rematch win over Michael Sweeney last November and the Dublin hardman will be looking to get active quickly.

On the move, Tims said that “I’m delighted to have signed and I’m looking forward to fighting under the MGM banner real soon. I’ve been a little inactive lately but MGM have promised to get me busy straight away.”

MGM management described how “we are really pleased to have signed Timsey, he is a real old school fighter who will share a ring with anybody. We intend to get him a fight or two to shake off the cobwebs but straight after that it’s big fights only”.

Tims, who is now trained by Phil Sutcliffe Snr, will have a fight date confirmed in the coming days.
