Three wins from four on second day of European Youth Championships

It was a fruitful outing for Ireland in Anapa, Russia, today on Day 2 of the preliminary rounds European Youth Championships with three victories from four.

Light welterweight Jason Harty from Limerick won his Last 32 clash with Poland’s Patryk Urbanski, and faces Georgia’s Iskekhan Madiev in the next round.

Ennis Super heavyweight Martin Mongan scored a victory over Moldova’s Aleksandr Borisov. Mongan now faces the daunting task of a medal fight home fighter Vladislav Muranin.

Oliver McCarthy claimed his second win in two days with a thrilling victory over Armenia’s Narek Ogannesyan and will now face Frenchman Asseme Nouali for a medal

Sadly though there was a loss for Rhys Moran who was defeated by Armenia’s Stepane Mkhitarian.
