Sweeney Storms his way to victory

By Jonny Stapleton

Michael Sweeney continued his impressive comeback from his Irish title fight to Ian Tims with victory on the top of a Brighton Hove bill last Saturday night.

The Storm went to work in the holiday town winning every round against Billy Boyle

a fighter, that shared the ring with world champion Nathan Cleverly and was a former Tony Oakley Prizefighter foe.

The Mayo light heavyweight, who seems to have become a lot more career focused and dedicated since his Tim’s reverse, will fight in the seaside town on October 22 and believes he is closing in a European title shot.

“I was happy with the way I boxed. He is experienced and has been in with some names. I was happy to get rounds in. He was under pressure in the second, fourth and sixth round. I had him down in the eight and I won every round. It was a good win and I am out again in Brighton on October 22. I am keeping busy and the big fights will come,” Sweeney explained.
